A great website with lots of answers

As you work through your flooring project there is a lot to learn. All kinds of new terminology about tools, materials, finishes and the list goes on. You are about to spend a significant amount of money so you are doing all you can to learn as much as possible and that is a big task. Your contractor is telling you one thing and the flooring sales people are saying something else ( most likely saving you a lot of money and trouble in my humble opinion ). So what do you do and how do you get the knowledge you need as quickly as possible?

You turn to the place that can overwhelm you or feed you just what you need for information. Well here is what we have found and this is a great site that is easy to use and easy to navigate. It won't answer all your questions but it will send you on the right path to becoming educated on all things building and remodeling.

Head on over to The Upstyle Wood guide for the all the info you could ever need.

This next site is more specific to flooring and flooring types. You can learn a lot in a short time at this website regarding the differences between flooring types. It is very basic but that is good in the sense that it gets you just the right amount of information without getting lost in the details.

Go here to see the site. This reading should generate questions about your project and what you really need to complete the job and make it last. Be sure to ask lots of questions of the people selling you building materials and the people doing the work. Trust your instincts about people and how they deliver information and just keep on asking questions if you are not satisfied with the answers you are getting.

This last site is the eminent design magazine Dwell so you know everything is going to look sleek and modern. Dwell produced a very helpful guide on wood types that is accompanied with some beautiful photography.

Enjoy the reading and remember there are no dumb questions when it comes to your project!
